Northern School of Writing Professor Jackie Kay will be the subject of BBC documentary series In My Own Words. The series has chosen some of the most culturally influential writers of the past decade for its new season. The shows producers said: “The extraordinary personal story of the former Scots Makar and one of Britain’s most loved and lauded poets Jackie Kay is at the centre of her new film, examining how she uses words and literature to capture and process her journey into powerful and emotive work.” The show will be broadcast on September 30th at 22.40 and available on BBC iplayer
