Dan Lovatt

Dan Lovatt graduated with a BA (hons) degree in Language and Creative Writing from The University of Salford. In his final year, Dan wrote the stage play, Toxic, which won best new play at The Greater Manchester Fringe Theatre Awards. In the two years after graduation, Dan formed Theatre Company Divided Culture Company and Toxic was selected for performance at The Octogon Theatre in Bolton. He has had two plays, Toxic and Daily Bread, professionally produced and backed by National Lottery Community Fund and Arts Council England respectively. Toxic is an award winning show going back on tour in 2024. His third play, The Plot Thickens, will tour 18 venues from Oct-Dec 2024. He is currently part of the BFI and Film Hub North 2024 Script Lab Programme, and his second short film, Into The Blue Again, is due to film in December 2024. He has received Arts Council England funding for a 2025 R&D of a new play, Millennium, which will explore theatre in non-conventional performance spaces.
