Dr Hazel Price teaches English Language at The University of Salford. She works as an Editorial Assistant for the popular language magazine Babel, where she writes the regular ‘Language in the News’ feature. Babel has an international readership and also has lots of school subscribers. The aim of Babel is to communicate academic research to interested non-specialists. Babel covers a wide variety of topics in linguistics, from constructed languages like Klingon, to articles on place name etymology. As part of her community work with Babel, Hazel has organised multiple public lectures, most recently at Salford’s Media City Campus. Past Babel Lecturers include Stephen Fry, Susie Dent and Robin Ince.
