The Leanne Bridgewater Award for Innovation and Experiment is an annual prize, now in its fifth year, started in memory of University fo Salford alumnus Leanne Bridgewater (1989-2019) who studied on the Masters in Creative Writing: Innovation and Experiment in 2012-13. It is granted each year to a high-achieving student who most embodies Leanne’s adventurous and iconoclastic spirit.
We are happy to report that this year’s winner is Tessa Keeble. Tessa said: ‘What an honour to win an award named after Leanne and her great curiosity, playfulness, and talent! I chose this MA because experimentation and innovation were exactly what I was seeking in my writing, and the course far exceeded even my initial high expectations! It has been a joy, and deeply satisfying, to bring my final project about the women in my mother’s family to life using lots of different techniques and genres of writing.’
