ReadingWise for Primary Schools

ReadingWise modules are in line with the simple view of reading. The Decoding and Comprehension modules are for targeted intervention. The Zip Phonics and Vocab modules have wider applications. ReadingWise offers four core modules, plus a comprehensive Learners Library, Teacher Training, and a Dashboard that can integrate with other school software.

Case Studies and Research

Case studies across every age and key stage group can be found here and pilot study results can be found here.

ReadingWise Zip

Zip is an adaptive supplementary phonics programme for pupils that need to progress rapidly with their phonics. One part of becoming a confident reader is securing letter-sound corresponences. Zip facilitates this at the individual level, meaning pupils learn and reinforce at their own pace. The system identifies and focuses on areas of weakness. Find out more here.

Vocab

Vocab is a literacy programme for pupils aged 6 – 16 (years 2 up to 11) used by primary schools, secondary schools, multi-academy trusts, local authorities, and other school groups. Teachers, literacy leads and SENDCos can decide on the target word lists, so pupils are working on the vocabulary that best reflects both their needs and the needs of the curriculum. The programme comes ready with an exhaustive list of tier 2 words through to complex academic words and vocabulary from books such as ‘Of Mice and Men.’ Find out more here.

ReadingWise Decoding Module

ReadingWise technology assesses every pupil’s initial reading level and then delivers a sequence of interactive, multi-sensory lessons, each lasting 2-3 minutes. Learners must complete each lesson with 100% accuracy to progress. Once a lesson is complete, they are rewarded with a snippet of something fun in the form of a GIF, a 3-second video. Find out more here.

ReadingWise Comprehension

ReadingWise Comprehension is a fun literacy intervention module to develop the quest for meaning behind a narrative. Its content, structure, and design deliver age-appropriate sessions for primary and secondary schools. Find out more here.
