
David Arrowsmith obtained an MA in Television and Radio Scriptwriting from The University of Salford while also simultaneously working full-time in the television industry. In 2023, after more than 20 years originating, developing and producing documentaries and unscripted programming for companies such as October Films, DSP, OSF, Nine Lives Media, Unique Factuals, Channel 5, Granada Television and the BBC, and winning key commissions including 1966: Who Stole the World Cup?; Hatton; Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty; Britain’s Bloody Crown; Cleopatra: Mother, Mistress, Murderer, Queen; Witch Hunt: A Century of Murder; 8 Days That Made Rome and Adolf & Eva: Love & War, David left television to focus on a full-time career as an author and to write his first narrative non-fiction book Narcoball: Love, Death and Football in Escobar’s Colombia (Cassell, 2024). He is also the author of several works of fiction including Nevada Noir: A Trilogy of Short Stories, Corona: A Novel and The Drowned (with Christina Gustavson).
